I splurged the other day and bought the Spawn a wooden artist’s box that can also be used as an easel. it contained watercolors, acryllic paints, oil paints, palettes, paper and canvasses. He said using it made him feel like a real artist and he was so inspired to begin painting with it right away.
His first masterpiece on his brand new art set was an acryllic on canvass painting inspired by the art of Wasilly Kandinsky. He entitled it “Creatures from the Deep.”
Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian Expressionist artist who, like a musician, wanted his paintings to express feelings and emotions, rather than a concrete subject. During World War II, the Nazi’s did not like his abstract form of art and seized 57 of his works.

The Spawn was so happy with his work that he declared that he wanted to open an art gallery just for kids when he grows up. He wants his gallery to be a place for kids to display whatever creations they want for all the world to see.
